INOXGFL Group has acquired Wind World India’s Independent Power Producer (IPP) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) businesses. The acquisition was finalized through an NCLT-approved resolution process. This deal signifies a strategic advancement for INOXGFL in India's renewable energy sector by significantly increasing its capacity and service capabilities.

Inox Clean Energy Limited, through its subsidiary Inox Neo, will take over a 600 MW operational wind IPP portfolio situated across seven Indian states, including Maharashtra and Gujarat. Concurrently, Inox Green Energy Services Limited will manage Wind World India's 4.5 GW O&M business. This segment currently services high-profile clients such as the Tata Group, ReNew, and Greenko. Although financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the implications suggest a notable enhancement in INOXGFL's operational scale.

The strategic rationale behind the acquisition is clear: it strengthens INOXGFL Group's position in the renewable energy landscape. For Inox Clean Energy, the wind IPP assets offer an instant expansion in capacity, contributing to the company’s target of 10 GW installed IPP capacity and 11 GW integrated solar manufacturing by FY28. These assets, located in prime wind corridors, promise improved revenue potential and reinforce geographical diversification. For Inox Green Energy Services, the acquisition enlarges its O&M portfolio from 13.3 GWp to nearly 18 GW, solidifying its status as a leading pure-play renewable O&M provider in India.

This acquisition comes amid increasing competition in the renewable energy sector, as companies worldwide intensify efforts to secure a foothold in green energy markets. By integrating these vital assets, INOXGFL enhances both its market presence and its ability to deliver consistent cash flows through long-term service contracts with industrial and utility leaders.

With this strategic expansion, INOXGFL aims to capitalize on India's growing demand for renewable energy. The transaction positions the conglomerate to further its reach in the energy transition sector, supported by its diverse portfolio spanning specialties like chemicals and battery materials alongside renewables. The successful integration of Wind World’s assets will be a critical focus moving forward, with potential regulatory filings and operational alignments expected to shape the transition in coming months.
