Standard Solar has acquired two community solar projects in New York from EDF Power Solutions, further expanding its footprint in one of the country's most active distributed solar markets. The deal, whose financial terms remain undisclosed, encompasses the Water Chestnut and Hanoverian projects. Water Chestnut, located in Alfred Station, Allegany County, has a capacity of 3.9 MW, while Hanoverian, situated in West Henrietta, Monroe County, contributes 4 MW. Both projects are set to be completed by early 2027, aiming to enhance local communities' access to clean energy and community solar benefits.

This acquisition aligns with Standard Solar's strategy to increase its holdings in New York, where it currently manages a portfolio of 82.3 MW in solar generation and 5.6 MW in energy storage. The transaction marks another chapter in Standard Solar's relationship with EDF Power Solutions, a collaboration that previously produced projects such as the 9.9 MW Bluebonnet solar project in Texas, among others.

From a strategic perspective, the acquisition underscores Standard Solar's commitment to scaling its operations in a state that hosts over 7,900 MW of installed solar capacity. New York ranks seventh in the nation for solar capacity, underpinned by supportive community solar initiatives and renewable energy policies. This latest transaction is a step in enhancing Standard Solar's service offerings and operational strength in one of its key markets.

The continuing partnership between Standard Solar and EDF Power Solutions suggests mutual confidence in their capabilities to identify and execute viable solar projects. EDF Power Solutions, with its extensive North American renewable infrastructure, adds significant expertise and developmental support, reinforcing Standard Solar’s long-term strategic goals in renewable energy investments.

Looking forward, the successful integration and operation of these projects will depend on efficient completion within the projected timeline. As the projects progress, stakeholders and observers will watch for any potential regulatory hurdles or logistical challenges. Meanwhile, the acquisition indicates ongoing alignment with New York’s clean energy goals, promising additional capacity to meet future clean energy demands.
