JH Holding acquires Akarton

JH Holding has acquired a minority stake in Akarton GmbH, a family-run packaging company. The deal highlights JH Holding's strategy of investing in the packaging sector through significant, yet non-dominant, minority shareholdings. JH Holding, based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, has been involved with Akarton since January 2026, retaining a minority position to allow Akarton to maintain its entrepreneurial independence. The company's focus is on securing growth and arranging succession plans for family-run businesses within the packaging industry. Alongside the stake in Akarton, JH Holding plans a similar investment in Polish packaging firm Poprawa P.S.A. in the first quarter of 2026, ensuring that its ownership remains under the 24.9% threshold.

The rationale behind JH Holding's investment model is to support companies strategically without exerting operational control. This approach ensures diversity in the market by allowing the companies to operate independently.
