Pacific Office Automation acquires Western Business Products
Pacific Office Automation (POA), the leading office equipment reseller and managed services provider in the United States, has acquired Western Business Products, a Redding, California-based office technology dealer. The transaction, concluded on April 1, 2026, will initially allow Western Business Products to maintain its brand identity as "Western Business Products Powered by POA" during a phased integration process.
The acquisition strategically extends POA’s service reach along the Interstate 5 corridor between Medford, Oregon, and Sacramento, California, enhancing its ability to provide consistent support to customers across this critical region. The expanded footprint aims to facilitate more responsive service for POA’s clientele.
Adam Pritchett, CEO of Pacific Office Automation, emphasized the expanded service capabilities, stating, “This acquisition strengthens our ability to serve customers across a key stretch of the region.” Dennis McGalliard, the owner of Western Business Products, highlighted the alignment of corporate cultures, noting POA's commitment to both customers and employees as a decisive factor in the sale.
Western Business Products, a longstanding Ricoh Authorized dealer, will continue its operations with the same offerings, supported by Pacific Office Automation's resources. This acquisition comes as a significant development amid POA’s 50th year in business and nearly half a century of uninterrupted annual growth. Furthermore, POA is augmenting its workforce across its operational areas to sustain its expansion and enhance service delivery as highlighted in its recent Community Impact Report.
Market dynamics in the office technology sector, characterized by consolidations and strategic acquisitions, position players like POA to enhance their competitive edge through expanded geographical reach and resource capabilities. As POA integrates Western Business Products, it could lead to heightened competition for regional office technology providers, particularly those operating without the backing of a national industry leader.
Looking forward, the full integration of Western Business Products into the POA brand over time could pose operational challenges yet offers potential for increased market share and customer loyalty. There remain no regulatory hurdles explicitly mentioned, allowing POA to focus on achieving seamless brand integration and service enhancement in the region.
