Zydus Multispecialty and Cancer Hospital acquires VINS Hospital

Zydus Multispecialty and Cancer Hospital, a 300-bed institution located in Vadodara, has acquired the Vadodara Institute of Neurological Sciences (VINS) Hospital. The acquisition incorporates a 50-bed facility focused on neurology and neurosurgery into Zydus's existing network. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. This strategic move adds specialized neurological capabilities to Zydus's portfolio, aligning with its commitment to expanding advanced medical services.

Under the leadership of Chairman Pankaj Patel, Zydus Hospitals aims to fortify its neuroscience expertise with this acquisition. The integration of VINS Hospital is seen as a key step in this direction, allowing the hospital to offer comprehensive neurological services and treatments closer to home for their patient base. Notably, the acquisition will enhance their capacity to manage a range of conditions, including brain and spinal tumors, strokes, aneurysms, and epilepsy, along with providing advanced procedures like deep brain stimulation.

Founded two decades ago by Dr. Monish Malhotra, VINS Hospital has been a cornerstone for neurological care in Vadodara. As part of the acquisition, leading neurologists from VINS, including Dr. Suresh Nayak, Dr. Rakesh Shah, and Dr. Mihir Acharya, will join the existing team at Zydus, which features prominent specialists like Dr. Chaturbhuj Rathore. This consolidation of talent brings together significant clinical and surgical expertise, enhancing Zydus's healthcare offerings.

The acquisition occurs amid a broader expansion in the Indian healthcare sector, particularly within specialized and multi-specialty hospital networks.
