Cincinnati Cyclones acquires Utah Grizzlies Hockey Team

The Cincinnati Cyclones, the ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, have completed a player exchange with the Utah Grizzlies, acquiring defenseman Christian Felton. The Cyclones have sent Andrew Noel, another defenseman, to Utah as part of the transaction. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

Christian Felton, 26, arrives in Cincinnati following a stint with the Utah Grizzlies. Before his time in Utah, he was signed to an NHL contract with the Vancouver Canucks but did not break through to their main roster. This ECHL season, Felton has contributed three goals and six assists over 30 games. Additionally, he made six appearances with the Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver’s AHL affiliate. Felton's collegiate career at Merrimack College is notable, having played a critical role in their run to the Hockey East tournament final in 2022-23, earning a spot on the Hockey East All-Tournament Team.

This acquisition aligns with the Cyclones' strategic efforts to bolster their defensive capabilities, especially in a competitive ECHL landscape. By acquiring Felton, the Cyclones aim to strengthen their backline, leveraging Felton's experience in the AHL and his demonstrated college-level achievements.
