Peregrine Hospitality has expanded its portfolio by acquiring The Lodge at Tiburon and Toll House Hotel in Northern California for an undisclosed sum. The move is aligned with the Denver-based company's strategy to enhance guest experiences and deliver long-term asset value within high-demand markets. Peregrine, which now operates 59 hotels and resorts across the United States, is strategically positioning itself to cater to both leisure and corporate travelers in regions with consistent demand.

The Lodge at Tiburon, situated on three acres with views of the San Francisco Bay, comprises 104 guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. The property offers amenities such as onsite dining, a fitness center, an outdoor heated pool, and the SkyDeck lounge. It benefits from its proximity to key attractions, being just a short ferry ride from Angel Island State Park and a ten-minute drive from Muir Woods National Monument. The location is also strategically placed approximately 30 miles from San Francisco International Airport.

Toll House Hotel, located in the historic area of Los Gatos, contains 115 rooms and boasts 6,300 square feet of meeting space. This property underwent a significant renovation in 2021, adopting a Craftsman-inspired design, and is conveniently located near local attractions like the Old Town Center and New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU). It stands just 12 miles from San Jose International Airport, offering accessibility for visitors.

Greg Kennealey, CEO of Peregrine Hospitality, stated that the acquisitions will enable the company to capitalize on the year-round draw of these locations for both leisure and business clientele. His comments reflect confidence in the resilience and potential growth opportunities of these particular markets, influenced by their geographic and commercial appeal.

The acquisition underscores a larger trend in the hospitality sector where companies are intensifying their focus on strategic markets that promise sustainable returns amid an evolving travel landscape. As the hospitality market recalibrates following recent global disruptions, investment in properties with established appeal and robust visitor numbers becomes crucial.

While specific terms of the purchase were not disclosed, attention will likely turn to how Peregrine Hospitality integrates these properties into its operational framework and the potential for further geographical expansion. The completion of this acquisition positions Peregrine to further entrench itself as a formidable player in the hospitality space, particularly in key Californian locales that fetch high demand.
