StirlingX Ltd. has secured $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Ventura Capital, with participation from RCM Private Markets Master Fund, managed by Rokos Capital Management. The British data intelligence firm, which emerged from a drone manufacturing background, aims to bolster its platform development and penetrate new markets. Known for its capabilities in handling data from complex and contested environments, StirlingX's client base includes key players in national infrastructure and defense sectors, such as National Grid plc and Murphy.

StirlingX was previously incubated within GALLOS Technologies Ltd., a venture studio focused on creating security outfits staffed with national intelligence and defense veterans. The investment marks StirlingX's transition to a standalone company with Sir Jeremy Fleming, former head of the UK's Government Communications Headquarters, taking on the role of chairman. Dean Jones, StirlingX's founder and CEO, highlighted that the funding will enable the company to scale operations with both current and new partners, particularly within the realms of critical infrastructure and defense ministries.

The decision to spin out comes as companies and government agencies increasingly seek sovereign alternatives to foreign-controlled data platforms. Ventura Capital's Mo El Husseiny praised StirlingX as a reliable solution trusted by the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, which includes the UK and its allies. Jonathan Ross of Rokos Capital Management, an existing investor, sees this as an opportunity to expand the firm's stake as StirlingX enters a phase of substantial growth.

StirlingX's $20 million Series A follows a previous extended seed round, which raised $11 million in late 2025. The accumulated funds total $31 million, earmarked for enhancing the company's security software engineering capabilities and expanding products for use in both military and civilian high-risk settings. The move underscores the increasing demand for secure, domestically-managed data solutions.

Going forward, StirlingX's ability to secure larger government contracts remains a critical factor. The company's strategic emphasis on "sovereign data intelligence" aligns with broader trends in data sovereignty and geopolitical tensions, potentially offering a competitive edge as governments balance security concerns with technological advancements.
