Rollins acquires Romex Pest Control

Rollins has acquired Romex Pest Control, a Utah-based pest management firm, to bolster its U.S. expansion. This acquisition enables Rollins, a major player in the pest control industry, to penetrate new regional markets in its effort to consolidate and expand its influence in a fragmented sector.

Romex Pest Control, established in 2016, employs over 200 staff and operates across four states, providing services to both residential and commercial clients. Known for its innovative marketing strategies and eco-friendly operations, Romex is ranked among the top 40 pest control firms by PCT 100. Rollins plans to retain Romex's brand identity post-acquisition, indicating a commitment to preserving the established reputation Romex holds in its operating regions.

The acquisition aligns with Rollins' strategy to grow by acquiring reputable firms in the pest control sector. With a substantial customer base of 2.8 million and a presence spanning more than 850 locations globally, Rollins looks to leverage Romex's existing market presence and operational model to drive growth. Rollins' President and CEO, Jerry Gahlhoff, emphasized that the deal enhances long-term growth prospects in new U.S. regions while allowing Romex to scale operations without losing its brand identity.

This move is consistent with Rollins' broader strategy to capitalize on the industry's fragmented nature. Kenneth Krause, the company's Executive Vice President and CFO, noted that the acquisition is indicative of Rollins' methodical M&A approach, adding high-quality businesses to its growing portfolio. The pest control market remains ripe with acquisition opportunities, supporting Rollins' continued pursuit of strategic growth in this space.

Looking ahead, the acquisition does not appear to be contingent on regulatory approval, streamlining its integration into Rollins’ structure. The focus for both companies will likely be on smoothly blending operations while capitalizing on shared resources to expand service offerings.
