Precinmac LP has acquired Dallas-based Precision Aerospace Holdings (PAH), an assembly of five specialized firms launched in 2022, consolidating expertise in precision machining for the aerospace, defense, and space industries. The acquisition aligns with Precinmac’s strategy of augmenting its technical capabilities and expanding its service offerings in mission-critical markets. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition of PAH, which includes Applegate EDM, Clearwater Engineering, Decatur Machine Services, Icon Machine Co., and Owens Machine and Tool Company, will enhance Precinmac's existing portfolio. The companies within PAH specialize in electronic discharge machining and precision machining, locating services close to major clients in their specialized fields. This move is expected to bolster Precinmac’s market positioning as a provider of high-complexity precision components.

PAH CEO Peter Stegmaier expressed confidence in the acquisition, highlighting Precinmac’s track record in investing both in advanced technology and workforce development. Precinmac CEO Eric Wisnefsky emphasized that PAH's technical capabilities and customer base complement Precinmac’s existing operations, aligning well with the firm's strategic focus on serving high-requirement sectors and supporting long-term aerospace and defense projects.

The acquisition comes as Precinmac, a portfolio company of Centerbridge Partners since December 2024, seeks to consolidate its standing in the aerospace sector. Vinson & Elkins served as legal counsel to Precinmac, and Baker Botts represented Precision Aerospace Holdings. Lincoln International LLC acted as the financial advisor for the transaction.

This transaction reflects broader consolidation trends in the aerospace and defense sectors, as companies seek to scale operations, enhance technological offerings, and deepen customer relationships. Key regulatory approvals will likely dictate the timeline for integration, though no specific hurdles have been disclosed. Competing firms in the sector may now face increased pressure to streamline operations and invest in advanced technologies to maintain competitiveness.
