SRS Distribution acquires Mingledorff's
SRS Distribution, a subsidiary of The Home Depot, has agreed to acquire Mingledorff's, an HVAC equipment distributor based in the southeastern United States. The acquisition, whose financial terms remain undisclosed, aims to enhance SRS Distribution's offerings in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) sector. Completion of the transaction is anticipated in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, funded through a combination of cash and debt.
Mingledorff's operates 42 locations across Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi. It will integrate into SRS Distribution’s existing operations, expanding the company's reach within specialty trade distribution. Dan Tinker, CEO of SRS Distribution, highlighted the strategic fit, stating the addition will enable them to serve a broader range of pro contractors, including builders and general contractors, with comprehensive product options and streamlined services.
The acquisition underscores The Home Depot's strategy to diversify its offerings and strengthen its position among professional customers. According to Ted Decker, chair, president, and CEO of The Home Depot, SRS Distribution is pivotal in driving synergies and value for pro customers. The integration of Mingledorff’s is viewed as a significant step in building a robust platform in the HVAC sector, complimenting SRS's existing focus areas such as roofing and building materials.
The HVAC distribution market presents a considerable opportunity, with a total addressable market estimated at approximately $100 billion. This acquisition boosts The Home Depot's total addressable market to $1.2 trillion, providing significant growth potential for both entities. Mingledorff’s extensive product portfolio will enhance SRS Distribution's offerings, positioning the company to meet growing industry demand.
Looking ahead, the integration of Mingledorff’s into SRS's operations appears set to roll out seamlessly, with Mingledorff’s President and CEO, David Kesterton, and his team remaining in leadership roles. This alignment is intended to ensure continuity and leverage the existing customer relationships and service commitments that Mingledorff's has established over decades.
