Wainbee acquires Hydraulics Plus

Wainbee Ltd., a company based in Mississauga, has acquired Hydraulics Plus, which specializes in the manufacturing and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in Timmins. Although financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, this acquisition is positioned to strengthen Wainbee's market position and service capabilities in northeastern Ontario.

Hydraulics Plus, established in 2012, has carved out a niche in providing fluid power components, notably as a distributor of the Parker line. The acquisition will leverage Hydraulics Plus’ local service expertise and customer relations in industries such as mining, forestry, and industrial maintenance. Wainbee's Vice President of Sales and Technical Services, Mike Labanovich, highlighted the strategic value of expanding service offerings and project-driven demand in the resilient industrial market of Northern Ontario.

The acquisition aligns with Wainbee’s broader strategy to enhance its national footprint and service portfolio. As an employee-owned company operating since 1957, Wainbee already has a significant presence in diverse sectors, including construction, metals, and power generation, through its 16 locations and 200-plus workforce. Integrating Hydraulics Plus is expected to consolidate these capabilities and fuel growth by combining Wainbee's breadth of products and supplier relationships with Hydraulics Plus' regional influence.

For the wider hydraulic and pneumatic equipment manufacturing sector, this move underpins ongoing consolidation trends as companies seek economies of scale and expanded geographical reach.
