Bristol Hospice acquires Hope Hospice & Palliative Care

Bristol Hospice has announced the acquisition of Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, marking its strategic entry into the Memphis, Tennessee market. Although the transaction's financial details have not been disclosed, this acquisition is part of Bristol Hospice's broader effort to expand its footprint in the Southeastern United States. Significantly, Hope Hospice, which was established in 2020, has garnered a solid reputation for delivering high-quality care across the Memphis area.

Bristol Hospice, a portfolio company of Webster Equity Partners, operates over 80 locations in approximately 25 states, offering a range of services including adult and pediatric hospice, palliative care, and specialized programs such as care for veterans and those with respiratory needs. The acquisition offers Bristol Hospice an opportunity to solidify its presence in Tennessee, a strategic target for expansion, while addressing the growing demand for hospice services in the region. President and CEO of Bristol Hospice, Alex Mauricio, emphasized the importance of establishing roots in Memphis to better serve the local community.

The rationale behind the deal lies in Bristol Hospice's commitment to sustainable access and community collaboration. Mauricio highlighted the demand for consistent, high-quality hospice care across Tennessee, driven by an increasing elderly population—seniors 65 and older comprise 17.7% of the state's population. By integrating Hope Hospice into its operations, Bristol aims to enhance care continuity and leverage the strong relationships Hope Hospice has built within the community. Pat Sherman, the founder and CEO of Hope Hospice, has expressed confidence in Bristol Hospice's ability to maintain and build upon the compassionate and personalized care their patients have come to expect.

This acquisition is Bristol Hospice's latest step in bolstering its presence in the Southeast, following its expansion into Mississippi with the 2024 acquisition of Mid-Delta Hospice. The move not only extends its reach into Tennessee but also strengthens its regional network of care providers and referral channels.
