INVOcell acquires Family Beginnings
Invo Fertility Inc., listed on Nasdaq with the ticker IVF, has acquired the nonclinical assets of Family Beginnings, a fertility clinic based in Indianapolis, for $760,000. This acquisition, which involves both cash and preferred stock, expands the Sarasota-based company's reach into the Midwest, adding to its portfolio of clinics in Atlanta, Middleton, Wisconsin, and Birmingham, Alabama. Family Beginnings has been operational for more than a decade, and this acquisition is part of Invo Fertility's strategy to broaden its influence in the fertility services sector.
The acquisition deal retains the existing medical leadership and staff, including Dr. James Donahue, who will continue overseeing operations under a multiyear agreement. Invo Fertility intends to provide additional clinical resources, operational support, and investment in advanced technologies and practices. Family Beginnings generated $1 million in revenue, representing about 18% of Invo’s total clinic revenue for the nine months ended September 2025.
Steve Shum, CEO of Invo Fertility, highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition, emphasizing that it will enhance the company's geographic footprint and expand its clinic portfolio. The integration also aligns with Invo's broader mission of improving access to quality fertility care, and it complements its commercial strategy of developing both owned and third-party clinics, alongside the distribution of its InvoCell medical device.
The acquisition is set against a backdrop of increasing demand for fertility services, with Invo Fertility projecting combined revenue across all its clinics to reach approximately $9 million this year, excluding potential organic growth. The company has a history of $6.5 million in revenue and a $9.1 million net loss in 2024. Going forward, Invo Fertility aims to shift towards profitability by leveraging incremental growth strategies focused on technology, care team enhancement, and patient outreach.
Looking ahead, the company is positioning itself for further expansion in 2026, driven by both acquisitions like Family Beginnings and organic growth at existing clinics. Discussions are underway with additional potential acquisition targets, indicating a continued focus on scaling up its operations in the coming years.
