Ekco has acquired Cork-based Datalogix, an operational technology company, for €100 million, approximately $108 million. This transaction is part of Ekco's continued expansion strategy focused on strengthening its managed security services, particularly in the operational technology (OT) sector. The acquisition gains significance as it follows a series of other purchases by Ekco in 2025, including Predatech, Adapt IT, and Solsoft, aiming to bolster its service offerings across key markets.

Datalogix, with over two decades of experience, provides secure OT infrastructure design, implementation, and support services across sectors such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and critical national infrastructure. By acquiring Datalogix, Ekco integrates a team with substantial industry expertise into its global workforce, which spans Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and South Africa, totaling over 1,000 employees. The acquisition brings Datalogix under Ekco's security division, which now accounts for half of the parent company's €200 million in total revenues, significantly boosting Ekco's presence in Ireland, the UK, and the US.

According to Steve MacNicholas, CEO of Ekco Ireland, the deal highlights Datalogix's significant capabilities and positions Ekco to advance its security-first managed services strategy. The acquisition aligns with Ekco's aim to combine its expertise in cutting-edge security technology with Datalogix's established OT advisory role in critical sectors. Datalogix's leadership, including managing director Der Cremen and chief technical officer Damian White, will join Ekco, bringing over 50 years of collective industry experience.

This acquisition underscores Ekco's commitment to expanding its footprint in the burgeoning operational technology market, where the demand for secure and automated industrial processes is rising. The transaction presents Ekco with opportunities to offer enhanced resources and operational resilience to new and existing customers, critical in maintaining competitiveness in sectors reliant on secure and efficient OT solutions.

Looking forward, integrating Datalogix’s operations and team into Ekco will be pivotal to ensuring a seamless transition and effectively leveraging the acquired capabilities. While no significant regulatory hurdles are expected, Ekco's focus on smoothly executing this integration will be crucial in fulfilling the strategic ambitions underlying the acquisition.
