DataBahn Inc. raises $40M in Series B
DataBahn Inc., an enterprise data pipeline startup, has secured $40 million in a Series B funding round led by Insight Partners LP. The fresh capital injection aims to enhance the development of DataBahn's data control platform, which operates between systems that produce enterprise telemetry and those that utilize it. This latest funding round brings the total raised by the company to $59 million, following a previous $17 million Series A round led by Forgepoint Capital.
DataBahn offers a software solution that processes, normalizes, and routes data from over 600 sources, ensuring only the necessary information reaches its intended destination without being locked into a specific platform or AI model. This approach addresses the increasing demand for enriched data amongst AI agents and copilots, who prioritize contextual information over raw data logs. With rising costs in cloud fees and AI processing, DataBahn’s model aims to streamline data transfer by deciding in real-time which data should move, thereby optimizing resource allocation and financial outlays for enterprises.
CEO and co-founder Nanda Santhana emphasized the essential role of DataBahn's agentic data control plane in adapting data pipelines for AI-driven enterprise applications. Santhana highlighted the platform’s capacity to reduce, enrich, and manage data in real-time, enhancing the quality of information available to both applications and AI systems. Revenue growth through channel and strategic partners has been notable, reportedly exceeding 400% year-over-year with a 180% net revenue retention rate and zero customer churn. Major customers include top firms in healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing, such as MVB Bank and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, who cite efficiencies and enhanced governance brought by DataBahn's solutions.
The funding will primarily support research and development, with a strategic focus on extending DataBahn's reach from large enterprises to mid-market firms. The company plans to showcase new platform features at the Black Hat USA 2026 conference. Insight Partners' Managing Director Max Wolff noted that enterprise leaders view DataBahn as integral to their future security architectures, reinforcing the platform's industry significance.
As the enterprise data management landscape evolves, DataBahn's latest funding round underscores the rising importance of efficient data handling solutions in an AI-augmented business environment. The company’s focus on reducing data movement costs and increasing operational efficiency may influence competitors and shape sector dynamics. The upcoming preview of platform enhancements will likely pivot DataBahn further into the broader market, potentially impacting both customer acquisition and partner network expansion.
