env zero merges with CloudQuery
env zero and CloudQuery have finalized their merger, aligning their technologies under the env zero brand to forge a unified cloud intelligence platform. The purpose of this consolidation is to provide enterprise platform teams with enhanced visibility and automated management capabilities within cloud environments.
The merger, whose financial terms remain undisclosed, integrates CloudQuery's cloud asset inventory functionalities with env zero's infrastructure automation technology. This newly formed platform aims to continuously map all elements of a client's cloud ecosystem, ensuring their configuration matches organizational requirements. It will span the entire lifecycle of cloud infrastructure management, from initial setup to sustained operations.
By combining resources, the merged entity addresses the recurring challenge voiced by clients — integrating visibility with actionable insights. "Visibility without action and action without context both fall short," stated Steve Corndell, now the CEO of the combined enterprise. The platform will provide a cohesive interface allowing engineering teams to enforce security, compliance, cost efficiency, and performance standards across diverse frameworks, such as Terraform, OpenTofu, and Kubernetes.
The merger comes as the cloud sector increasingly demands solutions that reduce the gap between planned and operational infrastructure, which can pose significant risks. This consolidation positions the new env zero as a potential leader in offering comprehensive cloud governance solutions, enhancing its competitive posture against other cloud management providers who might lag in integrating multifaceted automation and intelligence.
Moving forward, Yevgeny Pats, founder and CEO of CloudQuery, will take on the role of CTO at env zero. Clients currently using both platforms can expect continued support and a fast-tracked development schedule for the rollout of new integrated features. This merger sets the stage for growth and innovation in the unified cloud intelligence market, with no immediate regulatory hurdles or deal impediments reported, following the official closing on March 12.
