Chai Discovery Inc. has secured $400 million in a Series C funding round led by Index Ventures, boosting its valuation to $3.8 billion. The company, which specializes in developing AI models to predict interactions between biochemical molecules, aims to accelerate the drug discovery process and enhance precision medicine. Alongside Index Ventures, the funding round attracted participation from established investors like Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, and Dimension, as well as new backers including Bain Capital Ventures, Battery Ventures, and Baillie Gifford. This latest capital infusion raises Chai Discovery's total funding to approximately $630 million.

Chai Discovery's focus is on using artificial intelligence to significantly streamline the process of antibody design, which plays a crucial role in the development of new pharmaceuticals.
