Sikich acquires Burwood Group

Sikich has announced the acquisition of Burwood Group, a fellow Chicago-based firm specializing in IT consulting and integration. The financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed. This acquisition is significant as it broadens Sikich's technical capabilities in a variety of areas crucial to digital transformation, a strategic focus articulated by Sikich's leadership.

Burwood Group, established in 1997, offers a comprehensive suite of services, including data and application cloud integration, network solutions, security consulting, customer experience enhancement, modern workplace solutions, artificial intelligence, training, and managed services. The company's client base spans several key sectors including financial services, higher education, healthcare, government, and manufacturing. Burwood employs over 200 people across three offices in the United States.

Sikich, which employs around 2,000 people across 19 offices in the U.S. and India, views this acquisition as a means to enhance its capacity to deliver sophisticated digital transformation solutions. Christopher Geier, Sikich's chairman and CEO, emphasised Burwood Group's track record in understanding customer needs and maintaining enduring client relationships as critical assets in the acquisition. This aligns with Sikich's strategy to merge complementary service offerings and deliver increased value for clients.

As the 25th-largest CPA firm in the U.S., Sikich has demonstrated growth momentum with reported annual revenue of $438.9 million.
