TNS acquires BT Radianz
Transaction Network Services (TNS) has concluded the acquisition of BT Radianz, integrating two established entities in the financial markets connectivity sector. While financial terms remain undisclosed, the acquisition aims to enhance service capabilities, access, and reach for financial institutions globally.
Radianz, a network renowned for its secure connections facilitating critical financial communications, has linked global market participants, trading venues, market data providers, and financial applications for over 20 years. Its integration into TNS aims to complement the latter’s ultra-low-latency trading and market data services. According to Tom Lazenga, General Manager of TNS Financial Markets, the acquisition will expand access for customers while sustaining network diversity essential for resilience.
For TNS, headquartered in the United States and a subsidiary of Koch Equity Development LLC, this acquisition offers an opportunity to strengthen its portfolio in the infrastructure-as-a-service domain. The move is expected to consolidate its presence in over 60 countries, where it provides infrastructure solutions across communications and payments markets. TNS plans to seamlessly incorporate Radianz clients, employees, and partners into its ecosystem, ensuring continued investment and service delivery.
This transaction occurs at a time when the financial connectivity market faces increasing demands for secure, low-latency solutions amid rising digitalization in trading and communications. Competitors in the sector may find themselves under pressure to enhance their capabilities in response to TNS’s expanded offerings.
Advisory roles in the transaction were filled by Evercore and Jones Day for TNS, while Citi and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner advised BT. The completion of this acquisition signifies a strategic consolidation in the sector, with future developments likely involving integration of services and client transitions.
