Charlotte Football Club acquires Bolton Wanderers FC

Charlotte FC has strengthened its squad by acquiring goalkeeper Tyler Miller from Bolton Wanderers. The deal, confirmed by Charlotte FC, brings the 32-year-old American to Major League Soccer from England's EFL League One. Although financial terms were not disclosed, Miller has signed a contract with Charlotte FC that lasts until the end of the 2027-28 season, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Tyler Miller, who has made nine appearances for Bolton Wanderers since joining them in August 2025, will now embark on his fifth club stint. Prior to his time at Bolton, Miller accumulated 38 clean sheets over 131 matches in regular-season games throughout his professional career. Highlighting his international experience, Miller is a former U.S. youth international and was also part of the U.S. Men's National Team in 2019. Zoran Krneta, Charlotte FC's general manager, emphasized Miller's pedigree and experience, noting his potential to provide valuable competition for Charlotte's current roster of goalkeepers.

By adding Miller, Charlotte FC seeks to enhance its defensive capabilities as they head into the 2026 MLS season.
