Alkira specializes in a carrier-agnostic platform that allows enterprises to design, deploy, and manage network services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. With Alkira's capabilities, Lumen plans to merge its on-net and off-net services, cloud on-ramps, and Multi-Cloud Gateway into a unified, programmable network platform. The strategic acquisition is poised to enhance Lumen's Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) offerings, particularly in the expanding sector of cloud-to-cloud and data center-interconnect services.
