Hammond Power Solutions acquires AEG Power Solutions

Hammond Power Solutions (HPS), a Guelph, Ontario-based provider of dry-type transformer and power quality solutions, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire AEG Power Solutions, a global power electronics company. The all-cash deal is valued at CAD 365 million. This acquisition is poised to expand HPS's influence across several high-growth industries globally, particularly in sectors like industrial, infrastructure, transportation, and energy where AEG has a substantial presence.

AEG Power Solutions, with a workforce exceeding 780 employees and operating through five manufacturing facilities, is predominantly active in Europe and Asia. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, is expected to complete in the second quarter of 2026. Once finalized, AEG will function as a wholly-owned subsidiary of HPS, integrating seamlessly into HPS's existing operations.

The strategic acquisition is intended to enhance HPS's capabilities in power electronics and integrated electrical solutions, broadening its market presence. Adrian Thomas, CEO of Hammond Power Solutions, remarked that the transaction represents a significant strategic step for the company, reinforcing its offerings and market reach.
