Elbit Systems acquires TKMS

Elbit Systems has announced the acquisition of German submarine manufacturer TKMS, further solidifying its position in the global defence sector. Although financial terms remain undisclosed, the deal underscores the strategic importance of Germany’s industrial base to Elbit’s expansion plans. The acquisition reflects Elbit's focus on deepening its technological capabilities in maritime defence.

Elbit Systems, headquartered in Israel, will absorb TKMS, which is based in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. This acquisition leverages TKMS's established links with the Israeli Navy and its previous contracts involving the supply of submarines valued at billions of shekels. Additionally, TKMS has collaborated with Israel Aerospace Industries to provide unmanned submarine systems to the German Navy, indicating its robust operational portfolio and technological expertise.

Bezhalel Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, emphasized the strategic fit of the acquisition. "By combining the technological strengths and operational experience of both companies, we aim to provide advanced solutions that will meet the evolving needs of maritime forces," Machlis stated.
