Pushpay, a leader in payments and engagement solutions for faith-based organizations, has acquired Nurture.io, a platform specialized in pastoral care and engagement. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition aims to enhance Pushpay's existing suite of tools by incorporating Nurture's ability to aggregate and utilize church engagement data comprehensively.

The integration of Nurture.io into Pushpay's offerings will equip ministry leaders with more robust tools to track and act on congregation engagement data. Nurture.io aggregates information from over 17 different technology integrations—including church management systems, giving platforms, and communication tools—providing a unified view of congregation engagement. Luke Denton, Nurture.io's founder and CEO, has highlighted the platform’s focus on turning data insights into actionable pastoral care, enabling churches to reengage at-risk individuals effectively.

Strategically, the acquisition allows Pushpay to streamline the pastoral care process, filling a critical gap in their product lineup. According to Pushpay CEO Kenny Wyatt, the key advantage of Nurture's platform is its ability to provide ministry leaders not only with data but with actionable insights to support proactive discipleship. This approach aligns with Pushpay's broader "Engagement Journey" strategy, which aims to convert various church-generated data points into meaningful community interactions.

The deal underscores a growing trend in the church technology sector, which increasingly relies on digital tools to enhance community engagement. While 91% of church leaders report that technology aids in community care, less than 10% believe it supports discipleship significantly. Nurture.io addresses this gap by not only increasing return visits from at-risk congregants by nearly 2.8 times but also by reclaiming lapsed volunteers and donors, significantly boosting engagement.

Luke Denton will retain an active role within Pushpay, ensuring the continued development and integration of Nurture.io's technology with Pushpay's existing platforms, including Resi livestreaming. The focus will remain on enhancing the Nurture roadmap while maintaining its ability to integrate across various church technologies, ensuring its utility for churches regardless of their existing platforms. Further development and integration milestones can be anticipated as the platforms increasingly converge in functionality.
