delaware acquires ML2Grow
Delaware, an international IT consulting firm, has acquired Belgian artificial intelligence consultancy ML2Grow, enhancing its capabilities in AI and machine learning. The acquisition, for which financial terms were not disclosed, extends Delaware's AI expertise and further solidifies its market position in Belgium. ML2Grow, founded in 2017 as a spin-off from Ghent University, specializes in AI strategies, algorithm development, and AI solution implementations.
ML2Grow has executed over 100 AI projects for various sectors, including healthcare innovations at UZ Ghent and sustainability efforts with industrial packaging firm DRUMDRUM. The acquisition incorporates around a dozen seasoned professionals from ML2Grow into Delaware's workforce, bringing specialized knowledge in computer vision, natural language processing, machine learning operations, and AI engineering.
Jan De Bock, Delaware’s Managing Director for Belgium and Luxembourg, emphasized that the integration of ML2Grow aligns with the company’s commitment to harness AI for business innovation. According to De Bock, the move enables Delaware to offer clients enhanced AI services, backed by top talent and cutting-edge technologies. ML2Grow's CEO, Joeri Ruyssinck, echoed these sentiments, stating that joining Delaware allows ML2Grow to offer a broader array of unique technical capabilities and better address complex AI challenges.
The acquisition positions Delaware’s AI division as one of the leading hubs in Belgium, now staffed by approximately 85 AI specialists. In the current competitive landscape, bolstered AI competencies could provide Delaware with a significant advantage, as businesses increasingly seek to integrate AI solutions in various domains. This strategic addition is likely to set Delaware apart from AI and technology consulting peers in the region.
Going forward, Delaware's focus will be on seamless integration of ML2Grow's capabilities into its existing operations. This consolidation will likely involve strategic alignment to unify technology platforms and leverage joint expertise in tackling AI projects. Although the deal bypasses regulatory hurdles typically seen in larger transactions, the challenge remains in sustaining client relationships and delivering expanded services under the unified brand.
