Hexagon acquires Inertial Sense
Hexagon AB has completed the acquisition of Inertial Sense, a provider of high-performance navigation solutions, for $5 million. This transaction aims to bolster Hexagon’s positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) capabilities with the integration of tactical-grade GNSS-INS technology.
Inertial Sense, headquartered in Provo, Utah, will integrate into Hexagon's Aerospace & Defence Division. This strategic alignment will see Inertial Sense continue providing its inertial navigation solutions, which are deployed across various defense and commercial applications. Stig Pedersen, Hexagon’s Aerospace & Defence Division President, highlighted that Inertial Sense’s compact and cost-effective solutions will significantly enhance Hexagon’s ability to serve aerospace and defense sectors, particularly in GPS-challenged environments.
The acquisition is part of Hexagon's strategy to strengthen its assured PNT roadmap.
