New Engen acquires Grapevine
New Engen, a Seattle-based digital marketing agency, has agreed to acquire Grapevine, a creator-powered performance content network, for an undisclosed sum. This acquisition aims to bolster New Engen's ability to provide creator-led content solutions to brands, reflecting the growing trend towards using creator-produced content in paid social media marketing strategies.
Through this acquisition, New Engen seeks to enhance its capabilities in offering scalable and authentic creator content for brands, a crucial aspect of modern digital marketing as media buying becomes more automated. Grapevine collaborates with a network of over 700 creators to produce content that aligns with client business objectives. The company manages all stages of content creation and distribution, allowing brands to utilize creator whitelisting in their paid social campaigns beyond traditional brand-handle advertising. This approach supports key performance metrics such as cost per acquisition (CPA) and return on ad spend (ROAS).
Justin Hayashi, CEO of New Engen, emphasized the strategic importance of creator-led content, noting that it has become a vital component of growth infrastructure within paid social. The acquisition provides New Engen with the expanded infrastructure to deliver comprehensive creative, media, and measurement capabilities. Caroline Levere, CEO and co-founder of Grapevine, highlighted the mutual benefits, pointing out the shared clientele and the potential to scale creator-led performance offerings.
This move is part of New Engen's broader strategy to enhance its digital marketing services, which include creative, influencer, media, and measurement capabilities. With Grapevine, New Engen can now scale creator-focused content alongside its existing offerings from Donut Studios and its influencer marketing arm. This positions New Engen to leverage the increasing budgets brands allocate towards creator-centered campaigns in the face of evolving consumer engagement practices.
The digital marketing landscape continues to evolve with an emphasis on authenticity and scalability in content delivery. By acquiring Grapevine, New Engen is poised to strengthen its market position amid heightened competition among agencies vying for dominance in creator-led and performance-driven digital marketing. The integration process, led by Nick Shah, CEO of Artisan Ventures and co-founder of Grapevine, will be crucial in realizing the synergies envisioned by this transaction and advancing New Engen's growth agenda.
