CZECHOSLOVAK GROUP acquires Domar

Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has entered into an agreement to acquire DOMAR MS, a notable Polish manufacturer of cabling and electrical components essential for military systems. This acquisition aims to enhance CSG's supply chain capabilities and is projected to be finalized in the coming weeks, pending necessary regulatory approvals. The financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.

The acquisition follows a recent framework agreement between CSG and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), marking CSG's first acquisition in Poland. DOMAR MS specializes in producing wire harnesses and connectors used in military vehicles, radar systems, communications, and the aerospace sector. The strategic purchase is intended to bolster local production and support the delivery of military equipment to the Polish Armed Forces. CSG intends to invest in DOMAR MS's facilities, expand production capacity, and increase the workforce from 220 to approximately 300 employees by the end of the year.

The acquisition aligns with CSG's strategy to enhance its vertical integration and build a robust European supply chain for the defence industry. According to David Chour, Vice President of CSG, the acquisition will not only bring crucial capabilities in wire harnesses and electrical connectors but also potentially optimize production costs and expedite advancements in new systems. DOMAR MS will maintain its focus on the Polish market, continuing to honor existing contracts while accessing CSG's global resources for further international expansion.

This move takes place against the backdrop of increased attention on defence manufacturing and supply chain resilience across Europe. By acquiring DOMAR MS, CSG strengthens its competitive position, allowing it to better serve the evolving demands of the defence sector. This acquisition could pressure competitors to similarly adapt and consolidate their capabilities to stay competitive in a market characterized by rapid technological advancements and evolving military requirements.

Completion of the acquisition awaits regulatory clearances, particularly from antitrust authorities. Once approved, DOMAR MS will be under the CSG umbrella, providing both entities an opportunity to leverage combined expertise to pursue growth in the defense sector.
