Ampleo acquires Crunchfirm
Amplēo has acquired Crunchfirm, a finance firm targeting venture capital-backed startups, to bolster its suite of fractional finance services. This acquisition aims to enhance Amplēo's capabilities in supporting emerging companies at the critical venture and growth stages.
Crunchfirm focuses on providing comprehensive financial services to U.S.-based startups, acting as an outsourced financial team offering CFO services, financial modeling, tax services, and other essential financial operations. This acquisition allows Amplēo to leverage Crunchfirm's expertise in startup financial operations, which includes experience in fundraising, investor communication, and strategic financial leadership.
The integration will enable Amplēo to offer an expanded range of services to both its existing clients and those of Crunchfirm. Clients from Amplēo can now access specialized finance professionals with deep knowledge of startup environments, while Crunchfirm's clientele gains access to Amplēo's wider platform. This includes additional resources in fractional HR, marketing, sales tax compliance, and turnaround support.
Amplēo's CEO, Lincoln Howell, emphasized the acquisition as an opportunity to meet the needs of founder-led startups that require comprehensive financial teams but lack the resources for full-time staff. For Crunchfirm, the acquisition signifies a new phase of growth, providing additional resources and peer support that can enhance its offerings to venture-backed startups.
This acquisition marks Amplēo's seventh in under two years, underlining its strategy to grow its professional services platform for businesses needing embedded finance and operational support. Backed by Unity Partners, Amplēo continues to expand its reach across the financial services market, tapping into a network of over 300 professionals serving more than 14,000 companies. Crunchfirm will initially maintain its brand identity during the transition but will eventually integrate into the Amplēo framework.
