Stillwater Hospice acquires Campbell County Health
Stillwater Hospice, based in Montana, has announced its acquisition of Campbell County Health Hospice (CCH) located in Gillette, Wyoming. The financial terms of the deal remain confidential, but the transaction is expected to finalize on June 1. This move will integrate CCH into Stillwater’s broader network while offering the Wyoming-based hospice access to enhanced clinical resources and support services without detaching from its local community bonds.
Stillwater’s co-founder, Chris Graham, emphasized the intention to both honor CCH’s accomplishments and expand hospice care access in northeastern Wyoming. He highlighted the commitment to maintain existing patient relationships and the quality of care while augmenting resources available to caregivers and the community. Importantly, the acquisition will not disrupt current services, and CCH staff will remain in their positions.
For Campbell County Health Hospice, this acquisition aligns with a strategic goal of ensuring long-term sustainability. According to Ashley Montague, CCH’s director, becoming part of Stillwater will facilitate ongoing community service with enhanced capacity for growth and patient care. The move is presented as an opportunity to continue their established care practices with additional support.
This acquisition occurs amid ongoing discussions about the future of hospice care services in the area. Specifically, CCH is partnering with the Northeast Wyoming Community Health Foundation to consider developing an inpatient hospice facility, referred to as a hospice house. Although deliberations are active, an opening timeline for such a facility has not been determined.
Looking forward, the completion of the acquisition on June 1 will be crucial to realize the intended expansions in care and services. Market participants will be observing how the integration progresses, particularly in terms of maintaining service continuity and expanding service offerings. The deal highlights ongoing consolidation trends within the hospice care sector, driven by organizations seeking to enhance capacity and sustainability.
