Orchid Pharma acquires Allecra Therapeutics

Orchid Pharma has acquired the assets of Allecra Therapeutics GmbH and Allecra Therapeutics SAS, expanding its global presence in the pharmaceutical sector. The deal, for which financial terms were not disclosed, signifies Orchid's aim to enhance its portfolio with valuable antibiotic assets. By acquiring Allecra's operations in both Germany and France, Orchid gains global rights to Enmetazobactam (EXBLIFEP), a novel antibiotic.

The strategic acquisition includes 100% ownership of Allecra's operations, which were completed in late 2025. This move allows Orchid Pharma to fully integrate Enmetazobactam into its portfolio, leveraging its innovative potential to strengthen its position in the antibiotics market. The acquisition also coincides with Orchid’s repatriation efforts, bringing the antibiotic’s ownership and development back to India.

For Orchid Pharma, securing Allecra's assets forms part of its broader growth strategy. The company, which reported substantial standalone revenue of ₹81,132.73 lakh and a profit of ₹4,520.79 lakh for the fiscal year, seeks to bolster its market competitiveness through strategic expansion.
